Useful article from This Old House. Another on bamboo.
Excellent variety at ecotimber.com. My “local” retailer is ecohaus seattle (aka Environmental Home Center).

My friend google brought me to this site, lowimpactliving.com . Haven’t had much time to check it out, but wanted to post so I can check on it later. If you know of any similar sites, let me know.
goodtobegreen.com also looks like an excellent site…
Eco-Flooring Options…

This past year my folks installed cork flooring in their bedroom and upstairs hallway. It looks great, feels easy on the feet, and is easy to care for. I have been considering putting it in my studio. Due to my allergies/asthma I prefer to have hard flooring throughout the house; I also prefer the way hard floors look vs. carpet.
I found this store, Eco Friendly Floors, which seems to have some nice selections. If people have any experience with different flooring, please post a comment. I’m curious how cork holds up, and opinions on bamboo flooring (i.e., the environmental costs associated with shipping from China and other places).
I’ve also seen Marmoleum advertised extensively…any opinions on this? I would like to see it at a store or something so I could feel it and look at it up close, b/c it doesn’t look that attractive to me in the pictures. I do like that it’s from renewable sources, etc, and it comes in some nice colours. Wonder how it would stand up in the kitchen/dining area.
